Building a new strategy for your emerging company, product or project needs to be something that is taken seriously. These strategies serve as the building blocks and the very foundation of the business model and need special attention paid to them because of it. The McKinsey Strategic Horizons allows you to do just this by breaking down the different aspects of your strategy to understand what the steps are that need to be taken to make the most out of your new business.
The McKinsey Strategic Horizons template starts off on its first page with three colored blocks. The first block is the first horizon. This horizon talks about how to extend and defend the current core business and allows you to introduce the topic. The second block talks about how to build the momentum of a business that is still emerging, while the final block, horizon three, talks about how to open up options for a future business. The following page is where you can elaborate upon each talking point. These blocks are color coded as well and offer three different strategy types for you to review. Beneath each icon, there is a place for text blurbs that will allow you to elaborate on each one and speak in a clear way. The next slide shows how all of these strategies may be able to work together to reach a greater goal with blurbs on each one. The final slide allows for options for your business in the future.
